Suitable for Vegetarians. Gluten Free

Our famous Dorset Blue Vinny Soup, created in our kitchen using only natural ingredients to our own recipe & served everyday since 1985! Available in one or two portion sizes.

When the Estop family came to The New Inn Church Knowle in 1985, Maurice put his college training and work with Rank Hovis McDougal to work to create our signature dish, the now famous Dorset Blue Vinny Soup. In the early days Vinney was spelt Vinney, and later changed to Vinny.

Dorset Blue Vinny Soup appeared on our menu within weeks of trial recipes and has remained mostly unchanged since 1985, with only small modifications being made to make it suitable for vegetarians and those who require a gluten free diet. The soup has featured on our menu everyday since 1985 and has remained very popular!

During the late 80s we looked to can our popular soup and retail it. Tin tests were carried out but it was found that the soup in its original form was not suitable for canning. Not wanting to change the recipe this idea never went ahead. We now used plastic sealed two portion and single portion containers to retail the soup for take away, with a shelf life (when refrigerated) of 5 days. It is also suitable for freezing – in fact, some of our customers take away substantial quantities!

To avoid disappointment for larger quantities it is best to call ahead and pre order.

Another soup made to our own recipe is Fresh Crab Soup. It's not always available on our menu, but is usually available for takeaway as a frozen product.

Other soups from my grandmothers recipes that feature on our menu and are available for take away include Cream of Wild Mushroom and English Roasted Tomato & Garlic Soup – only available in season.
